Launch Pad Alum G.J. Lee has become the latest writer to find representation through the competitions, signing with Charlie Ferraro and Jordan Lonner of UTA. Lee’s pilot BETWEEN THE EYES won the Top Drama prize in the 2018 Launch Pad Pilots Competition.
Described as Deadwood meets Jane Got a Gun, BETWEEN THE EYES follows the true story of Kate Warne, the first female Pinkerton detective, when she is hired to foil an assassination plot against President-elect Lincoln as he travels from Illinois to Washington for his inauguration. Our readers noted that the script is a true joy to read from start to finish, which thrives on the strength of its strong female protagonist and unique, cinematic style.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, G.J. has a BA in English from SUNY New Paltz and an MFA in Screenwriting from Chapman University. He has interned at such prominent companies as River Road Entertainment, Apatow Productions and Annapurna Pictures. His scripts have placed highly in competitions such as Scriptapalooza, the Williamsburg International Film Festival, Cinequest and the Brooklyn Film Festival.
With this signing, G.J. joins over 370 writers who have found representation through the Launch Pad Competitions since they began in 2013.
