CAA agents Martin Lesak, Jason Heyman, Greg Cavic, Gregory McKnight, and Nick Nuciforo have left CAA to join UTA as agents and partners of the agency. Heyman and Lesak were previously partners at UTA before their move to CAA, where they led the agency’s comedy division.

Nuciforo will head UTA’s comedy touring division, while Heyman will be serve as the special adviser to the board of directors. Heyman, Lesak, McKnight, Cavic and Nuciforo represent some of the top artists working in film, television, digital and comedy touring. Their clients are anticipated to follow their move to UTA, which would include Will Ferrell, Jason Sudeikis, Melissa McCarthy, Zooey Deschanel, Seth Meyers, Vin Diesel and Jim Parsons,.

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is repped by both Heyman and Lesak and can be considered to be the number one client that CAA and UTA will be fighting over. In recent years, Pratt has risen to become one of the most coveted and sought-after rising talents in the business. Pratt’s departure from CAA would serve as a crushing blow for the agency.

UTA managing directors David Kramer, Jay Sures and Jeremy Zimmer issued a joint statement about the transition, saying:

“Jason, Marty, Gregory, Greg and Nick are among the most respected agents in our industry. We’re excited to have them join UTA’s collaborative culture, and we know that they and their clients will thrive here.”
