Paper Team is a weekly podcast about television writing and becoming a TV writer. It’s aimed at aspiring writers (both comedy and drama) who are working their way into the business from the ground up, but it’s also for everyone interested in the TV industry and all that it encompasses.

Each episode explores both the business side and the writing side of working in the industry, and offers helpful advice on pitching, networking, job hunting and being an assistant. The hosts also discuss the craft of writing, from structure and theme, to working with other writers and learning how to take notes.

The most recent episode of Paper Team (#55, for those keeping track) welcomed a handful of Launch Pad alumni — , and — who shared their experience in terms of entering competitions and working as professional writers. They also offer great insight into writer room dynamics, and both the craft and business of TV writing.

Gonzalez is a former staff writer on Teen Wolf who is now staffed on iZombie with her writing partner Bisanne Massoud. They were alumni from our 2014 Launch Pad Feature competition for their script 20 Minutes South. Hoffman is a staff writer on Timeless who was the overall winner of our 2015 Launch Pad Pilots Competition for his script Running Money. He signed with reps as a result of our competition, same as Snyder, who won our 2017 Launch Pad Pilots Competition and optioned his script Dead Men to Endgame Entertainment. He’s now managed by Echo Lake Entertainment
