“Atlanta”, “Luke Cage”, “This Is Us” Among Peabody Award Finalists

Recognizing excellence in radio, television, and online media, this year’s list of Peabody Award finalists doesn’t disappoint. From Marvel’s indestructible street hero Luke Cage to the emotional drama of the modern family in This Is Us, the finalists have definitely earned their place on the list.

Other finalists include Donald Glover’s Golden Globe-winning comedy Atlanta, Netflix’s throwback sci-fi series Stranger Things and Ava DuVernay’s Oscar-nominated doc 13th. Out of 1,200 entries from TV, radio, and digital, the Peabody Awards board of jurors selected 60 finalists which will later be narrowed down to 30 winners. The winners will be revealed by category starting April 12 and will be celebrated on May 20 at a gala event in New York hosted by Rashida Jones. The ceremony will air on PBS and Fusion on June 2.
