Coming off the success of HBO’s adaptation of Big Little Lies, CBS Films is adapting another Liane Moriarty’s novels: THE HUSBAND’S SECRET. The Tracking Board has confirmed that Blake Lively is attached to star in and executive produce the feature. Pamela Gray is set to pen the adaptation.
The 2013 novel, which landed on the follows Cecilia Fitzpatrick (Lively), a woman who has it all — a successful career, rewarding home life, and more — until she discovers her husband’s letter, which was supposed to be opened after his death, but is found when he’s still very much alive. The dark secrets contained within the letter will shatter not only Cecilia’s life but the lives of others as well.
“[Liane] Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman,” said President of CBS Films Terry Press. “And [Blake] Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the perfect actress to realize Moriarty’s creation.”
Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz, and Andrew Miano are set to produce via their Depth of Field shingle alongside Lively. Mark Ross and Alex Ginno will oversee for the studio.
Lively most recently appeared in the horror-thriller The Shallows as well as Woody Allen’s Cafe Society. She will next be seen in Open Road’s All I See Is You and was just cast in Nick Cassavetes’ Bruised. She’s repped by WME and Management 360.
