Bob Buchi has been promoted from EVP of worldwide marketing to president of worldwide home media distribution at Parmount Pictures. He will step into the role following Dennis Maguire, who stepped down last month due to the company-wide restructuring ordered Viacom, Paramount’s parent company.

Buchi will serve under president of worldwide distribution and marketing Megan Colligan. About Buchi’s promotion, Colligan said,

Within an ever-evolving home media landscape, Bob’s proven track record of success across a diverse portfolio of theatrical releases, acquisitions, family and television product makes him the ideal person to lead our team as we continue to strive for even greater creativity and innovation.

Buchi joined the studio in 2006 and most recently oversaw the digital, retail, and brand marketing teams for studio franchises such as Star Trek, Spongebob Sqaurepants, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paranormal Activity, and G.I. Joe as well as having been responsible for product marketing and management of said franchises.

Paramount also announced that Peter Giannascoli’s role as SVP of marketing for home media has been expanded to include oversight of worldwide marketing for his division.
