Veteran actors Danny DeVito and Jeff Goldblum are teaming up for an untitled half-hour comedy series in development at Amazon Studios. The comedy comes from Imagine Television and was created by Tim Long.
The series focuses on an iconic music duo, Matt Downey (Goldblum) and Arlo Finkleman (DeVito), who have long been estranged but are forced to reunite despite their hard feelings towards one another. As they attempt to smooth things over, all the people close to them, including wives, ex-wives, children, and more are brought into the fold.
DeVito and Goldblum will both executive produce alongside Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo, while Imagine’s Jon Radler will oversee the project.
Long’s past work includes writing for The Simpsons and the 2009 feature Slaughter. He’s represented by attorney Behr Abramson Levy.
DeVito can currently be seen in the series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and last year he appeared in the films Wiener-Dog and The Comedian. He’s repped by CAA.
Most recently, Goldblum appeared in the sequel Independence Day Resurgence and he just joined the cast of another sequel to reprise a famed role: Jurassic World 2. Later this year he’ll also be seen in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok. He’s repped by ICM and Industry Entertainment.
