Comedy Central is serving up another round of DRUNK HISTORY. The Viacom-owned cable network has renewed the Emmy-nominated sketch comedy series from Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner for a sixth season. Season 6 will have 16 episodes, its largest order yet.
“They say history is written by the victors, but after five seasons, it’s now clear that it is best told by drunken comedians,” network president Kent Alterman quipped.
The series is a liquored-up narration of our nation’s past. Featuring host Waters and an always-changing cast of actors and comedians traveling the country to present the rich tales that every city has to offer.
The early renewal comes less than a month after season five premiered up 44 percent year-over-year and opened as the top show in its time slot among 18-34-year-old men. The “Heroines” installment featured Tiffany Haddish, Paget Brewster and Amber Ruffin narrating with re-enactments by Evan Rachel Wood, Mandy Moore, and Busy Phillips.
Waters and Konner executive produce the series alongside Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Owen Burke. It airs at 10 PM Tuesdays on Comedy Central.
