〉 Polin marks the 105th Launch Pad writer to land representation in just two years!
We’re thrilled to announce that Mark Lawyer of Markerstone has signed 2015 Launch Pad Feature Competition alum Guy Francisco Polin. Polin’s spec HEMOPHILIA was a favorite amongst our judges as an eerie dark mystery that kept everyone turning pages. Lawyer’s main focus is on elevating the careers of his clients, both established and under-represented screenwriters, as well as nurturing fresh and aspiring voices. He represents 2015 Young & Hungry List writers Carver Grey and Jared Battaglia.
Polin holds a BA from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, and he’s an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Besides writing, his passions are versatile, from Oracle database design to web application development. His Launch Pad feature Hemophilia was also recognized as a Second Rounder in the Austin Film Festival this year.
Hemophilia tells the story of a father who’s world is upended when his daughter goes missing, and whose life is further complicated when the case is reopened years later. When he discovers new evidence that points to his daughter being alive and well, he embarks on a dogged quest to find the truth behind her disappearance. A gripping thriller rooted in relatable relationships, the script has all the twists and turns an audience could want, and the creepy atmosphere to match.
Congratulations once again to Polin on the signing—he represents the 105th Launch Pad writer signed in just 2 years!
We will be announcing the Launch Pad Feature Competition Top 25 at 6PM PST on Tuesday, November 24th, but be sure to check out our current Top 50 Quarterfinalists today.
