{EXCLUSIVE HEAT METER} CAA Looking To Lock Bennett Miller And Reese Witherspoon For “Pale Blue Dot!”
0PALE BLUE DOT, the burning hot new spec out from CAA‘s Craig Brody and Matt Martin, is ON FIRE! The project is gaining a ton of heat going into the weekend, with CAA looking to lock down a powerhouse package. Two-time Oscar nominated director Bennett Miller is now reading the script, along with Oscar nominee Reese Witherspoon.
I’m hearing that CAA is trying to create an internal package of Miller and Witherspoon, likely looking at Miller to direct and Witherspoon to star and produce.
The high caliber of the A-list talent interested screams of the project’s Oscar-bait potential.
The hot drama was written by Brian C. Brown and Elliott DiGuiseppi and centers around a successful female astronaut who, after coming back home from a mission in space, starts to unravel when confronted by her seemingly perfect “American Dream” life.
Brown and DiGuiseppi are well-known for writing the spec Uncle Shelby, a biopic about children’s book author Shel Silverstein. They are also repped by Dianne Fraser at Industry.
Miller is known for his impressive dramas Moneyball and Capote, the latter of which landed him an Oscar nomination for Best Director. He’s currently nominated in the same category for the second time for his 2014 drama Foxcatcher, which stars Steve Carrell, Mark Ruffalo, and Channing Tatum.
Miller is repped by CAA.
Stay tuned to the Tracking Board for more as this project heats up!
