First “Incredibles 2” Teaser Trailer Shows Off Jack-Jack’s New Superpowers (Video)

Pixar Animation has been making a lot of sequels in recent years, and the fans have mostly been patient with that decision, although for many years, the fans have been clamoring for a sequel to Brad Bird’s 2004 animated action-comedy The Incredibles.

Next summer, that sequel Incredibles 2 finally comes to fruition, and Walt Disney Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for the movie in advance of it playing in front of Pixar’s latest release Coco.

Brad Bird is back in the director’s chair for the sequel, which is produced by John Walker and Nicole Grindle, while Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell and Huck Milner are all back voicing their members of the Parr family of superheroes. Similarly, Samuel L. Jackson is back voicing Frozone and Bird himself will voice superhero outfitter Edna Mode.

As reported by the Tracking Board on Friday, the voice cast will be bolstered with the additions of Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener in undisclosed roles.

Disney’s official tagline/plot for the movie is as follows:

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again — which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

Disney will release Incredibles 2 on June 15, 2018, and you can watch the first teaser trailer below.
