Fox has picked up two new pilots, comedy from New Girl showrunner Liz Meriwether and an untitled FBI drama from Empire showrunner Ilene Chaiken.

Daddy Issues is written by Erin Foster, loosely based on her own life, and revolves around Andi (single, 30-something and also played by Foster), who refuses to settle down, and her friendship with her playboy dad. Andi’s world is turned upside down when she discovers her dad’s fallen in love with her best friend.

Meriwether will also executive produce with Oly Obst and Josh Lieberman.

The untitled drama project was written by Chaiken and Melissa Scrivner Love, and follows FBI Special Agent Clementine Otis, who is in the midst of investigating a domestic terrorism threat when a personal indiscretion – an affair with a prominent general – shatters her life and threatens her career at the FBI. Now labeled “the mistress,” Clementine Otis – wife, mother, patriot – begins to rebuild her personal life and professional reputation.

Judy Smith and Obst will also serve as EPs along with Chaiken and Scrivner Love.

The Chaiken project is only the second drama pilot Fox has picked up, in addition to Josh Safran’s Mixtape. On the comedy side, the network has ordered Lee Daniels’ Our People, retirement community sitcom Cool Kids and Rel, based on the life of Lil Rel, to pilot.
