Greg Berlanti’s “God Friended Me” Drama Picked Up to Pilot at CBS

CBS has picked up hourlong pilot , from executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Questions of faith, existence and science are explored in this series, from writers and executive producers Steven Lilien & Bryan Wynbrandt, about an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down when he is “friended” by God on Facebook. Unwittingly, he becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him.

Marcos Siega will direct and also serve as an EP, along with Berlanti’s producing partner Sarah Schechter.

God Friended Me joins Murder as CBS’ drama pilot pickups thus far this season. The network has also picked up two comedy pilots, Gloria Calderon Kellett’s History of Them and I Mom So Hard, based on the web series.
