{HEAT METER} Horror Spec “Raven Court” Blazes Into Even More New Territories, Seventeen Total!
0Since it hit the market on Monday, hot horror spec RAVEN COURT has easily become one of the hottest on the market this month. With some serious buzz surrounding it, it’s no wonder that the project is into an astounding seventeen territories. The spec, out from Jon Kanak of Kanak Management and written by Young and Hungry List Alum Richard Hobley, was previously confirmed to have been taken into Dimension, Michael Bay’s banner Platinum Dunes, Altitude, UK company Pinewood Pictures, WWE Studios, Silver Pictures, Automatik, Intrepid, Blumhouse, Good Universe, IM Global, UK financiers Bankside and Hanway, and was taken directly into Paramount.
I can now confirm that the project is into New Regency, Studio Canal, and Matt Tolmach Productions. The project’s hit the town hard, with everyone clamoring to read Hobley’s script. Raven Court follows a woman named Grace in the aftermath of her husband’s brutal murder, who is given the impossible opportunity to bring him back from the dead… but with horrific consequences.
Hobley’s work has landed him on both the 2014 Young And Hungry List and the 2013 Blood List.
Kanak is attached to produce, with James Harris and Mark Lane producing through their Tea Shop & Film Company shingle. Director James Moran is attached to direct, best known for his work on horror entries such as Ouija, Dark Skies, and the Paranormal Activity series. Moran made his feature debut with the Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story adaptation.
Hobley is repped by Kanak and by Anthony Mestriner of Casarotto Ramsay & Associates in the UK.
