James Franco is Tommy Wiseau in “The Disaster Artist” Trailer (Video)

A24 has released another trailer for their upcoming film . The film is based on the book The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made, which is Greg Sestero’s account of how Tommy Wiseau made “the Citizen Kane of bad movies.”

James Franco plays Tommy Wiseau, while his younger brother Dave Franco plays Greg Sestero, Wiseau’s co-star in The Room. Instead of waiting for his break in Hollywood, Wiseau pursued his dream and wrote, directed, and starred in his own film. The movie is notorious for being a disaster, hence the title of the book and film. In the first trailer we got a taste of the chaos with Franco reenacting the famous scene where Wiseau had to deliver the line : “It’s not true! I did not hit her! It’s bullshit! I did not. Oh, hi, Mark!” which took 31 attempts. There were also some scenes in The Room that were out of focus because nobody bothered to check the lens.

The movie received great praise from critics while playing at SXSW and TIFF this year. Franco embodies the giddy wonder that  Tommy created and gives a heartfelt performance about a man who sets out to accomplish his dream.

Also starring is Seth Rogen, Alison Brie, Zac Efron, Bryan Cranston, Kate Upton, Zoey Deutch, Adam Scott, and Kristen Bell.

The Disaster Artist hits theaters December 8, check out the trailer below.
