Comedy star has lined up his next project, the Tracking Board has exclusively learned, with the biopic MR. TOY. The film is described as Steve Jobs meets A Beautiful Mind by way of Willy Wonka.

Carrey is set to play Marvin Glass, a brilliant, charismatic, self-loathing, paranoid, demanding man – and probably the greatest toy inventor of all time. Glass and his employees at Marvin Glass & Associates created some of the most successful toys and games of the twentieth century including Mr. Machine, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Lite Brite, Ants in the Pants, Operation, and Mouse Trap.

The spec was penned by Chai Hecht, who has previously been featured on the 2014 Hit List, Black List, and Young & Hungry List with his previous script In Real Time.

Madhouse Entertainment’s Adam Kolbrenner is attached to produce.

Carrey has been seen in this year’s The Bad Batch and True Crimes but more recently has been working behind the scenes in the cable comedy I’m Dying Up Here. The series in the works at Showtime follows the infamous L.A. stand-up comedy scene of the ’70s and delves into the inspired and damaged psyches that inhabit the hilarious but complex business of making an audience laugh. It’s based on William Knoedelseder’s book of the same name.

I really hope that Jim Carrey’s new project is really true and not a rumor. If it’s true, it’ll be great to see Jim Carrey do another project. I hope this biopic will be a drama. I love Jim Carrey in dramas more than comedies. He has done some great comedies, but I prefer to see him do more dramas. So, I hope this biopic film will be a drama.

I still think it’s great that Jim Carrey is gonna do this project. I’m happy for him.
He’s been through a lot of crap the past two years. I’m glad his working again.
“The Bad Batch” and “True Crimes” haven’t been released yet. And “I’m Dying Up Here” will be on
Showtime sometime next year. He has another movie in the works, it’s called “Alsteir Arcane” a graphic novel adaptation (a horror movie). He’s gonna be Executive Producer of the movie.
I wonder if he’s gonna produce this new biopic film? He’s produced a lot projects in the past.
