Joe Ballarini Gets Folded Up in “Cardboard”

is set to adapt , a feature from Fox Animation centering on a poor widower who gives his son a disappointing birthday present – a cardboard box. Together, the duo turns the box into a boxer named Bill that ends up coming to life. The project is based on the graphic novel created by Doug TenNapel.

Ballarini’s previous credits include “Father vs. Son,” a comedy starring Eric Stonestreet which Ballarini wrote and directed. Next up, Ballarini will pen the scripts for Disney’s “The Residence” which is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and horror flick “Lockdown at Franklin High” for Columbia Pictures.
