Justin Theroux, Gillian Anderson Join Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon in “The Spy Who Dumped Me” (Exclusive)

Hot off respective turns in The Leftovers and American Gods, and are joining the cast of Lionsgate’s action-comedy , the Tracking Board has exclusively learned.

Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon are set to star alongside Outlander‘s Sam Heughan and The Daily Show‘s Hasan Minhaj.

Kunis and McKinnon will play best friends who become entangled in an international conspiracy once they discover that one of their ex-boyfriends was a spy. When he’s killed in the middle of a mission, they decide to take up the cause and finish it.

Anderson will play an M-like figure who serves as Heughan’s boss, while Theroux’s role is being kept under wraps.

Susanna Fogel will direct from a script she co-wrote with former SNL scribe David Iserson. Brian Grazer will produce under his Imagine banner, with shooting slated to start this summer. Lionsgate will release the movie on July 6, 2018.

Theroux is coming off an acclaimed turn in the final season of HBO’s devastating drama The Leftovers. He recently appeared in The Girl on the Train, and he’ll soon be seen in Duncan Jones’ Mute, as well as heard as the voice of Garmadon in The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Theroux is represented by , & Media and attorney Fred Toczek.

Anderson is a Golden Globe and Emmy winner who can currently be seen as Media on the hit Starz series American Gods. She’ll soon be seen on the big screen in Crooked House alongside Glenn Close, Terence Stamp and Christina Hendricks. Anderson is repped by , and .
