The upcoming Disney holiday comedy DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW is eyeing comedian/actor extraordinaire Kevin Hart for the role of Santa Claus. If Hart signs on he would reteam with Ride Along producer Will Packer, who is producing the project with John Jacobs.

The Tracking Board broke the news of the long-gestating project last year. More recently, it was announced that Paula Pell would be taking over the writing duties of the script which was originally started by Scott Rosenberg.

Dashing Through the Snow follows a divorced New York cop who is responsible for taking care of his son on Christmas Eve. Instead of spending a normal holiday evening with him, the father brings him along while patrolling his beat. The two have a strained relationship and the only thing that may be able to repair it is the one true Santa Claus who has to make the man believe in Christmas magic.

Jacobs is set to produce under his Smart Entertainment banner alongside Jessica Virtue. Kristin Burr is overseeing the movie.

Hart can currently be seen in his comedy film Kevin Hart: What Now?. He is currently filming the Jumanji reboot which reunites him with Central Intelligence co-star Dwayne Johnson. He also lends his voice in the upcoming animated feature Captain Underpants.
