Launch Pad Alum Eric Martin Signs with Verve {Exclusive}
0Eric Martin becomes the latest Launch Pad alum to sign with representation following the recent Launch Pad Feature Competition announcements. Martin, who penned one of the most exciting, action-packed, neo-western thrillers we’ve ever read with his Launch Pad finalist PRESIDIO, has made it official and inked with Adam Levine, Evan Pioch and Nicky Mohebbi of Verve.
Martin’s script, which was being likened to NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN and HELL OR HIGHWATER, with hints of SON OF RAMBOW, centers on a small town sheriff who is forced to break his deal with a drug cartel, when he takes it upon himself to protect a kid who stole from them. It’s a script that manages to masterfully layer humor, heart, and some fantastically complex characters within it’s action-filled, broody Texas landscape. It’s one of the most uniquely spun western tales we’ve read, all the while staying ever true to the world and the genre it plays in.
Martin, an author and screenwriter with a BA from the University of California – Santa Barbara, and an MFA from Pepperdine, saw his first novel SAVING THE REPUBLIC released in February of this year, and is currently writing for the STARZ television drama HEELS, while also developing the new series KING ELIZABETH. Previously, he’d adapted the novel THE LIAR’S CHAIR, and was a Nicholl Fellowship semi-finalist for his script COURIER 12.
Martin remains represented by Jenna Sarkin and Jill McElroy of Management 360 as well as his entertainment attorney Michael Schenkman of Bloom, Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal, LaViolette, Feldman, Schenkman & Goodman, LLP.
