Just one day after announcing our 2016 Launch Pad Feature Competition winners, Steve Isles joins the more than 200 writers who have landed reps from the competition as he signs with Mike Esola at UTA.
Isles, who had previously placed in the 2013 competition, earned raves this go round, with his script EDGE OF ETERNITY not only making this years Top 10 list, but also being selected by Launch Pad Mentor Gary Graham (I Am Legend) as his mentor selection. His script grabbed the attention of our readers and judges from the get-go, with its haunting atmosphere and remarkably well-crafted futuristic world. The script features a prisoner sentenced to work in isolation on a remote asteroid who creates a synthetic female companion for himself, and whose life gains meaning when the two fall in love. But when an emergency brings another astronaut to rescue them, he instead lays claim to everything the prisoner has. Simultaneously an action thriller, a science fiction elegy, and an engaging love story, the script has something for absolutely everyone.
A UK native now living in Los Angeles, Isles is an award-winning writer and composer, who also produced and co-directed the supernatural thriller The Possession of David O’Reilly, which was released by IFC.
Previously, Isles has worked as a composer, writing for studio and indie films as well as television. He produced and co-directed supernatural thriller The Possession of David O’Reilly, which was distributed by IFC Films. He has since began writing both features and TV pilots, and has placed in several competitions.
Isles is also represented by Jon Kanak of Magnet Management.
Congratulations, Steve! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
