Why to Read: | A fantastic ensemble, sharp, witty dialogue, and a contained setting with plenty of potential for comedic dysfunction – this script hits all the right beats for a successful sitcom formula. Where this pilot truly soars is in it strategy to represent each of the characters’ own personal “God,” to great comedic and thematic effect. There’s an intelligence and an emotional insight in this pilot which speaks to faith without condescension, managing to craft inventive and touching stories out of irreverent comedy. This will work for people on all ends of the religious spectrum. |
