YouTube sensation and overall media star Grace Helbig has signed a deal with Lionsgate to develop both films and TV series. One of the first projects under the deal will be a romantic comedy starring her and one of her frequent YouTube collaborators Mamrie Hart. There are numerous other projects on the docket as possibilities to pursue.
Helbig first rose to prominence in the internet world making viral videos with Hart and another one of their collaborators, Hannah Hart (no relation to Mamrie). The three became known as “YouTube’s Holy Trinity” by fans. Helbig has since gone on to bigger and better things outside of YouTube, including her own late-night talk show, The Grace Helbig Show, on E!.
She has also starred in two films alongside the Harts: 2014’s Camp Takota and Dirty 30, which was just released at the end of September. Both films were co-written by Mamrie Hart. She also appeared alongside Hannah Hart in Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, a remake of 1976 series. It was released on all major platforms by Legendary and Sony.
She and both Hannah and Mamrie Hart were named to Variety’s New Leaders list earlier in the month.
Helbig is repped by WME and Bleecker Street Entertainment.
