“Meet the Movie Press”: Comic Book Movie News Galore, Plus the Mark Wahlberg-Michelle Williams Pay Gap Dispute (Video)

MTMP 1-12

On this week’s episode of Meet the Movie Press, brought to you by Afterbuzz TV’s Popcorn Talk Network, Simon Thompson and I discuss a ton of comic book movies, including Black Widow, Deadpool 2, New Mutants, Gambit, Suicide Squad 2, Ant-Man 3 and Avengers: Infinity War. Hey, Batman got a breather for once!

We also talk about the misguided controversy surrounding the pay disparity between All the Money in the World stars Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams, who I’ve heard has no plans to discharge her agents at WME. I’m fully aware the gender wage gap is a systemic problem in our industry, and one that needs to be addressed, but I think I made some fair points worth considering during my epic rant. I know this is a heated issue for many, so please remember — don’t shoot (or @) the messenger, folks!

Enjoy, and please let me know if there’s anything you’d like Simon and I to discuss next month, when I return from the Sundance Film Festival. The show must go on in the interim, however, so expect Simon back next week with a special guest host.
