“Sin City” fans can breath a sigh of relief. Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson and Michael Madsen are all set to star in helmer Robert Rodriguez’s sequel, “Sin City 2” (aka A DAME TO KILL FOR), leading the way for the rest of the original cast to follow suit. The sequel picks up where the original left off, with Dwight planning to have his vengeance against Ava Lord, the woman who betrayed him, while Nancy tries to cope with Hartigan’s death. All three actors will reprise their roles from the original film- Rourke as ex-con Marv, Dawson as Old Town Girl Gail and Madsen as Hartigan’s partner Bob.
With the original film’s commercial and critical success, the arrival of “Sin City 2” will be warmly received by fans and critics alike, especially with the original cast returning. Rourke’s best work as of late came in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Wrestler”, for which the actor was nominated for an Oscar. He’s also recently starred in “Iron Man 2” opposite Robert Downey Jr. and the stylized action thriller “Immortals”. Dawson’s most recent work includes “Percy Jackson And The Olympiads” and “The Zookeeper”, and she will be starring in the recently wrapped thriller, “Trance”. Madsen, coming off a starring role in this year’s “Loosies”, is set to star in the true story-based “West Memphis Three”, which is picking up heat with a growing cast.
Rodriguez will be producing with Elizabeth Avellan, Frank Miller, Aaron Kaufman, Iliana Nikolic, Alexander Rodnyansky, Sergei Bespalov and Stephen L’Heureux.
