The Netflix original series OZARK has been renewed for a second season. Like the first, the second season will consist of 10 episodes. Jason Bateman plays financial planner and family man, Marty Linney. Marty relocates his wife, Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) and his two children to a summer resort community in the Missouri Ozarks after a money laundering scheme goes south.
Bateman directed multiple episodes as well as executive produces with Chris Mundy, who wrote the series. The series is produced by Bateman’s Aggregate Films with Media Rights Capital for Netflix.
Ozark has received mostly positive reviews and is currently at 65% on Rotten Tomatoes. While the series hasn’t hit the stride of other crime classics such as Breaking Bad it does show great potential with Jason Bateman’s performance.
Netflix has a high renewal rate for shows. They also recently renewed the female wrestling show set in the 1980’s, Glow for second season, however the thriller series Gypsy starring Naomi Watts was canceled after one season.
