Paradigm, Bellevue Out With “Father-Daughter Day,” an Action-Comedy Spec In the Vein of “True Lies”

and are out with a new action-comedy script titled that is starting to generate some buzz around town.

Written by newcomer , the script is being pitched as True Lies with a father-daughter dynamic, as it follows an uptight father who discovers his reckless daughter is a secret agent. The two find themselves forced to work together as they try to save the world — and their turbulent relationship.

Frankly, that’s pretty smart, considering the action-comedy is due for a change-up featuring mixed-gender leads. Look at the “Action – Buddy Comedy” chart on Box Office Mojo and all of the recent films on the list feature either two men or two women. Examples include the Jump Street films, the Ride Along movies, The Heat, Central Intelligence, Men in Black 3, Let’s Be Cops, High Pursuit and 2 Guns. It’s 2017, people! It’s time for men and women to unite so they can make quips and kick ass together… as a family.
