Paramount Pictures has tapped Elizabeth Raposo as its new president of production, promoting an executive who has been with the studio since 2005. She will report to Marc Evans, president of the Paramount Film Group.
Raposo is well-liked throughout the industry and has developed a great reputation at Paramount, for whom she has overseen production on the Mission: Impossible, Star Trek, Jack Reacher and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchises, as well as J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 and Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
“Elizabeth is among the very best executives working in production today, with a depth of experience across every genre of live-action filmmaking. I am very excited to see her take on this new role,” said Evans.
“It’s an honor to take on the role of President of Production, and work alongside this terrific team. I am excited about the future of the studio under the leadership and vision of Jim Gianopulos and Marc Evans,” added Raposo.
Prior to joining the studio, Raposo served as director of development at Darren Aronofsky’s production company Protozoa Pictures, where she had a hand in Black Swan, The Wrestler and The Fountain.
A Georgetown grad who started her career working for Kevin Huvane and Rick Kurtzman at CAA, Raposo, also serves on Women in Film’s Board of Directors.
