Patty Jenkins, fresh off her Emmy nom for directing the two hour pilot of AMC’s “The Killing”, is already being offered bigger budgeted fare; Marvel Comic’s THOR 2. Kenneth Branagh directed the original starring Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins, but helming duties on the sequel have been shuffled around as the studio considered different directors in the chair. Brian Kirk was recently considered the front runner, though now that the comic book franchise is off the table Kirk will be completely freed up to work on Guillermo del Toro’s “Midnight Delivery”.

Don Payne wrote both the original as well as the sequel, with Kevin Feige taking producing duties.

Jenkins is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.
