Paul Bettany Reunites With Director Ron Howard for Mysterious Role in “Han Solo” Movie

has joined the cast of Disney and Lucasfilm’s untitled Han Solo movie, which marks the third time he will have worked with director Ron Howard following A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code.

It’s unclear whether Bettany is coming in to replace Michael K. Williams, who was unable to return to the Star Wars set due to a scheduling conflict, or whether Bettany has been cast as an entirely different character.

The British actor popped up in a photo that Howard shared on social media, and since he appears to be in costume, it’s safe to assume this is more than just a voice role, a la his turn as Jarvis in the Iron Man trilogy.

Bettany, who is currently killing it as Ted Kaczynski in Manhunt: Unabomber, is represented by , and .
