Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington are teaming up to executive produce and star in a limited series adaptation of LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE, based on the novel by Celeste Ng.
The project, from ABC Signature Studios, Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Washington’s Simpson Street, is being shopped to premium cable and streaming platforms.
Liz Tigelaar is writing and executing producing, serving as showrunner, while Ng will be a producer.
The story is set in a sleepy Ohio suburb in 1998, which is shaken up with the arrival of single mother Mia and her teenage daughter Pearl.
Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will executive produce for Hello Sunshine, while Washington will executive produce for Simpson Street and Pilar Savone will oversee the project for their shingle.
This project firmly cements Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine as a major player in TV, joining Big Little Lies and three series set up at Apple, including a morning show drama also set to star Witherspoon. Witherspoon is represented by CAA, LBI and Gretchen Rush at Hansen, Jacobson while the company is repped by CAA and Gretchen Rush at Hansen, Jacobson.
Washington and Simpson Street recently sold pilot Man of the House starring Alyson Hannigan to ABC. The out-going Scandal star and executive producer is repped by CAA, Washington Square Arts, and Gretchen Rush at Hansen, Jacobson.
Ng is represented by UTA and Julie Barer at The Book Group and Tigelaar is represented by UTA and Wendy Kirk at Ziffren, Brittenham.
