Coverage FAQ

Coverage FAQ

Some sites offer annual contests. The Tracking Board offers you the opportunity for exposure year round.  All you have to do is write.

Do you really need coverage to sell a script?
Nope. You also don’t technically need an agent or manager, but that doesn’t mean you should turn one down if they offer to represent you. Script coverage is a tool that you can utilize to push your script to the next level, a way to get professional industry level feedback on your script before you expose it to the people who will only give it one chance.

Who provides the coverage for your script?
Our readers are the same people that make up and run The Tracking Board itself; namely, a collection of Execs, Assts, Producers, Agents, Managers, etc who have been, and continue to be, at the front lines of Hollywood’s Information Superhighway. We aren’t some nameless interns covering your script for free in a studio basement, we are working professionals whose job it is to track all the projects that are hot, on the market, and selling in Hollywood right now.

When you get coverage from anywhere, you are really paying for the opinion and experience of the person who is covering your work. Why wouldn’t you want the people with their finger on the pulse of every sale and deal in Hollywood today?

Why should I pay for coverage from The Tracking Board and not another site?
We here at The Tracking Board are well versed in the numerous script coverage sites out there and personally can recommend several that offer exceptional coverage and help with your script. That being said, The Tracking Board offers coverage on your script from a collection of industry professionals and story analysts whose job is to track every project that is selling in Hollywood. Not only can we offer in depth script and story breakdowns like other coverage sites, but we can also compare your ideas and marketability to exactly what is selling in Hollywood right now.

In addition, if your script is good enough to receive our Recommend grade, we will immediately blast it out on our website, our forums, and our feeds, ensuring that the thousands of industry professionals that are members of our site or follow us will know how great your script is. Some sites offer annual contests. The Tracking Board offers you the opportunity for exposure year round. All you have to do is write.

Does The Tracking Board take a percentage of the profits if your script sells after coverage?
Absolutely not. The only money you will ever owe The Tracking Board is the initial fee for the coverage you receive.

What exactly is the process for sending my script in?
First, you’ll decide what service best suits your needs. Then, you’ll click on the corresponding link, checking out and making payment through PayPal. PayPal will give you a receipt for your payment. Next, you will email your script to coverage@tracking-board.com along with any special notes about your order (or who you want to be your reader). The Tracking Board will email you back a confirmation email with an estimated time of completion when we have received your script and verified payment. By the completion date you will receive an email with a copy of your coverage as well as any additional attachments (such as an edited copy of your script, when applicable).

What format does the Tracking Board accept for scripts?
Tracking Board prefers Adobe .PDFs for all coverages, except for proofreading / formatting packages, in which case Final Draft or Word files are required.

I want to pay by check / credit card / bartering chickens, is this accepted?
Currently, the Tracking Board only accepts PayPal as payment for submissions. PayPal is the most widely accepted form of digital payment around and accepts many different types of account payment options on the buyer’s end.

Does the Tracking Board accept International orders, or only domestic US?
The Tracking Board will accept any order as long as PayPal is used to pay for services, the scripts are emailed correctly, and all correspondence and files are in English.

Can I send you a hard copy of my script?
No. We currently only accept digital submissions.
