Captain America star Sebastian Stan has joined the growing ranks of LOGAN LUCKY, director Steven Soderbergh’s latest venture. The film is currently shooting in Atlanta with a release date for October of next year.
The film takes place at a NASCAR event where two brothers plan to pull off an epic heist. Stan’s role in the film is as a three-time Sprint Cup Champion NASCAR driver who is coming back into the sport after some time away. He’ll be joining the likes of Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, Hilary Swank, Jack Quaid, Seth MacFarlane, and Katherine Heigl in the film.
Mark Johnson under his production banner Gran Via, Gregory Jacobs, and Reid Carolin are all producing, alongside Soderbergh. Zane Stoddard will be executive producing for NASCAR Productions.
Stan is most famously known for his role as Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most recently appearing in this year’s Captain America: Civil War. He also appeared in last year’s films The Martian, The Bronze, and Ricki and the Flash. In the future he’ll be seen in a movie adaptation of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge.
He is repped by ICM and Brookside Artist Management.
