Britt Robertson has signed on to star in ABC’s Shondaland drama FOR THE PEOPLE, Tracking Board has confirmed.
The legal drama was written by Paul William Davies and follows four brand-new lawyers who work for both the prosecution and defense in the Southern District of New York Federal Court, also know as The Mother Court.
Robertson is taking on the role of Sandra, a sensible, fiercely intelligent and independent new public defender who was driven to the law because of an injustice perpetrated on her family when she was a child.
The role was recast after the pilot, where Britne Oldford played Sandra.
Davies will executive produce the series with Don Todd, Rhimes and Betsy Beers.
Robertson is coming off of Netflix’s Girlboss, which was canceled after one season. She is represented by Innovative Artists.
