“Solo: A Star Wars” Story to Premiere Out of Competition at Cannes Film Festival

Solo

Han Solo made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs thanks to the Millennium Falcon, but his next flight may take a little longer, as SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY is headed to the Cannes Film Festival, sources tell the Tracking Board.

The film, which stars Alden Ehrenreich as Monsieur Solo, will premiere as a special screening on May 15, which is ten days before it officially opens worldwide.

Ron Howard directed Solo, which co-stars Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.

While the last three Star Wars movies have premiered in Los Angeles, the franchise does have a track record on the Croisette, as both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith screened out of competition at Cannes, which runs May 8-19 this year.
