TOY STORY 4 has found it’s new writer in Stephany Folsom, The Tracking Board has confirmed. Folsom was uncredited for her work on Thor: Ragnarok, but it seems there’s no bad blood as she continues her relationship with Disney.
Rashida Jones and her writing partner Will McCormack were originally supposed to write the project, but they exited the project over creative and philosophical differences. The writing duo went on to say “Pixar has a culture where women and people of color do not have an equal creative voice.”
Folsom made the Black List for her original script 1969: A Space Odyssey. The script is set in an alternate-history that follows a publicist who convinces visionary director Stanley Kubrick to work with NASA in order to fake the moon landing. She is represented by Verve.
Toy Story 3 went on to gross over $1 billion at the global box office. The sequel is slated for June 21, 2019.
