It has been announced that Gelman will play Murray Bauman, a disgraced journalist-turned-conspiracy theorist who has arrived in Hawkins, Indiana to investigate a cold case.
Gelman is one of many additions to the second season of the Duffer Brother’s breakout hit. He joins Stranger Things previously announced newcomers Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, Linnea Berthelsen, Sadie Sink, and Dacre Montgomery.
The news of Gelman’s casting comes days after the actor-comedian severed ties with longtime collaborator Adult Swim over “the misogyny their policies” and the network’s support of a new show which has ties to the alt-right.
Like the research being done at the Hawkins National Laboratory, much of the plot of the follow-up season is being kept under wraps. But the 9 episode second season of Stranger Things is expected to be due out on Netflix in 2017.
He is repped by ICM.
