Season 1, Episode 10 – Dorothy returns to Kansas in the season finale of Emerald City. But it doesn’t take long for her to be summoned back to Oz, her true home. I guess NBC thinks this story is worth a season 2. I disagree.
Season 1, Episode 9 – Emerald City has ramped it up. Friday’s episode is complete with violence on violence on violence. Queen Languadine is dead. The Iron Giant returns. Lucas/Roan seems to be fatally wounded. And The Wizard is on the verge of being shot to death.
Season 1, Episode 8 – Friday’s episode of Emerald City sent me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I began feeling hopeful about where this story was going, and then felt confused and annoyed. Finally, I returned to hope. Let me explain.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Emerald City may actually be a good show. It took 7 episodes, but I’m into it. Lucas remembers who he is, thanks to Glinda, and The Wizard reminds me of someone who was just inaugurated.
Season 1, Episode 6 – The Wizard is a legitimate con man. I like that this element of the “Wizard of Oz” has finally entered the foreground in Emerald City. Understanding Dorothy’s relationship to him is also answered.
Season 1, Episode 5 – I have to admit that Emerald City is getting better. The story is becoming somewhat interesting, and I’m becoming somewhat invested in the characters. Keyword: somewhat.
Season 1, Episode 4 – Emerald City is still foreign to me. Meaning, I still don’t understand what’s going on. But the end of Friday’s episode surprises me with a metaphor that makes me intrigued to see what happens.
Season 1, Episode 2 – Emerald City is really doing the most, and not in a good way. There is way too much going on, and I can’t keep up. Luckily, Toto is saving this series from complete failure.
Season 1, Episode 1-2 – Emerald City is a series remix on the classic “The Wizard of Oz.” It features a Latina protagonist (love this!) and attempts to connect the real world with the Land of Oz. Although fresh and different, it falls flat (at least in the Pilot).
