Season 1, Episode 13 – The first season of Son of Zorn comes to a close with a season finale that sets up plenty of future action, despite feeling choppy at certain times.
Season 1, Episode 12 – Son of Zorn returns from an extended break with a search for Craig and Alan coming to terms with his Zephyrian legs at school.
Season 1, Episode 11 – Craig enlists the help of Zorn to teach him how to be a man while Alan must make a difficult decision about his Zephyrian attributes. Tonight’s episode had a weaker structure than I’m used to, but still brought the funny lines and ultimately got the job done.
Season 1, Episode 10 – After an especially long hiatus, Son of Zorn returns with a fast paced and hilarious episode that proves the show has found its rhythm.
Season 1, Episode 9 – Son of Zorn’s Christmas/Grafelnik effort results in the show’s best episode yet when Alan pits Zorn and Edie against each other to earn his love by buying him better presents.
Season 1, Episode 8 – Son of Zorn returns this week to rage when Zorn’s old buddy Headbutt Man comes to town. The show’s over-the-top take on this old sitcom trope reveals why the series might be smarter than I give it credit for.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Son of Zorn knocks it out of the park again when Zorn crashes Edie’s Thanksgiving dinner. The seventh episode is well constructed and hilarious, largely due to the show’s investment in character development.
Season 1, Episode 6 – Zorn uses his robot body double Meka Zorn to fill in for him at work while he waits in line with Alan to buy the new edition of Alan’s favorite video game. This is the dumbest and funniest episode of Son of Zorn yet as episode 6 provides laughs from credits to credits.
Season 1, Episode 5 – After Zorn finds the media’s depiction of Zephyrians offensive, he decides he needs to educate Alan on his heritage. This week’s episode feels slightly less organized than usual, but still brings plenty of laughs.
Season 1, Episode 4 – Son of Zorn stays the course with another strange and funny episode when Zorn tries to balance being both a father and a friend to Alan during their first weekend together.
Season 1, Episode 3 – The theme of this episode of Son of Zorn is battle. Zorn struggles to appropriately quench his thirst for war within the confines of his new life while Alan is forced to deal with a bully at school. The jokes are sharper and the stakes are lower than ever in the show’s silliest episode to date.
Season 1, Episode 2 – In the second installment of Son of Zorn. Zorn tries to help Alan get a girl while also trying to keep his new job. This episode picks up the pace with more jokes and a firmer grasp on the weirdness that makes the show stand out from the Fall lineup.
Season 1, Episode 1 – In the pilot episode of Son of Zorn, we meet and follow a witty animated Barbarian as he comes back to Orange County to reconnect with his family. While not exactly a masterpiece, the show’s original premise and outrageous situations will keep you coming back for more.
