Season 5, Episode 14 – The Mindy Project ends its fifth season with an episode that pushes the characters in new directions. Mindy makes a big decision in her relationship with Ben, while Jeremy and Anna take a step forward and Collette and Karen take a step back.
Season 5, Episode 13 – In the show’s penultimate episode of the season, we get a revelation that may end Ben and Mindy’s relationship. Also, Mindy’s best friend from grade school Elena (guest star Casey Wilson) visits, prompting her to reassess her relationship with Morgan.
Season 5, Episode 12 – This is an instant classic of an episode and one of the best the show’s ever done. The show hilariously and pointedly dissects white male privilege, as Mindy wakes up a white man played by the delightful Ryan Hansen.
Season 5, Episode 11 – Mindy takes a backseat as the rest of the cast shines in another hilarious episode. Jeremy and Jody both pursue Anna, who’s gone from a nonentity to a stellar part of the show’s dynamic.
Season 5, Episode 10 – The Mindy Project showcases every member of its great supporting cast, even Dr. Z, in a hilarious episode that sees Mindy kidnap Jody to spy on Ben and Patricia, while Anna deals with the information that her husband is cheating on her.
Season 5, Episode 9 – Peter visits Mindy on a hilarious episode, as the two crash Lindsay’s bat mitzvah after Ben neglects to invite Mindy, meeting his ex-wife, the formidable Patricia. Meanwhile, Jody dates a Mindy clone, all while insisting he’s over her.
Season 5, Episode 8 – The Mindy Project returns for its midseason premiere with an amusing but frustrating episode, as Mindy once again tries to win Ben back while being trapped in a Groundhog Day-like loop.
Season 5, Episode 7 – In show’s 100th episode and fall finale, Mindy and Ben break up (again), after her insistence that he take a gig on the Today Show brings to light the fact that she doesn’t think he’s good enough for her.
Season 5, Episode 6 – In one of the strongest episodes of the season, Mindy returns to her childhood home, where her always hilarious brother and amazing mom help her process the fact that Danny’s getting married that weekend. Danny and Mindy are officially, 100% over, but she’s not alone. Ben tells her he loves her, despite her craziness.
Season 5, Episode 5 – Mindy goes on a date with Leland Breakfast (a Benedict Cumberbatch-like British stage actor/Marvel star) after she learns that Ben may not consider their relationship to be exclusive.
Season 5, Episode 4 – The Mindy Project isn’t afraid to show its feminist side in a pretty great episode, where Jeremy’s decision to hire another doctor causes Mindy to confront her issues with working with females.
Season 5, Episode 3 – The Mindy Project shows its age with an episode that rehashes old jokes and familiar stories, as Mindy’s relationship with Ben develops while the nurses’ strike continues on.
Season 5, Episode 2 – Mindy has found a new love interest already in handsome pediatric nurse Ben (Bryan Greenberg). Meanwhile, the nurses go on strike, causing chaos at the hospital, and Mindy takes a side job.
Season 5, Episode 1 – The Mindy Project returns for its fifth season today, with an episode that subverts romantic comedy tropes as Mindy tries to choose between Jody and Danny, only to realize that she doesn’t need to settle. What if neither choice in the love triangle is right?

Last week, there was a hint of flirtation between Mindy and Jody at the end of the episode. Apparently the show is really doubling down on a potential Mindy/Jody relationship, as this episode ends with Jody writing her a letter, formally asking her out on a date.
The Mindy Project has found its groove again, delivering another episode that reminded why I fell in love with this show in the first place. It had everything: subverted romantic comedy clichés, displays of Mindy’s unwavering self-confidence, and moments of Morgan-related absurdity.
The Mindy Project‘s very funny midseason premiere addresses the cliffhanger from the last episode right away. Are Danny and Mindy together? Either way, Mindy is going to be just fine.
