critics-choice-excerptThe nominees for the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards were announced today, and with no surprise, HBO took the top spot raking in 22 nominations while ABC and Netflix tied for second with 14 nods. With critically acclaimed shows like The Americans, the new Donald Glover comedy Atlanta, and the uber-successful The People Vs. OJ Simpson FX ranked fourth.

Logline: Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as “Tomorrowland.”

Logline: Set on Christmas night, story centers on Arthur, the son of Santa, who must help save Christmas, and in the process discover how Santa delivers all of those presents in one night.

Logline: Story centers on a man’s romantic relationship with the daughter of a family friend, which turns their lives upside down.

Logline: Set against the warring conflict in the province of Bougainville in Papa New Guinea, story follows 13-year-old Matilda Laimo and her mother, Dolores, as they are unified with the rest of their village in their efforts for survival. Amid the chaos, Mr. Watts, the only white local, offers to fill in as the children’s schoolteacher and teaches from Charles Dickens’s “Great Expectations.”
