Follows a group of teens who use their newfound ability to shapeshift into animals to battle a secret alien invasion.
The bestselling sci-fi book series, written by K. A. Applegate and published by Scholastic, follows a group of teens who come across a crashed spaceship with a dying alien being inside. The teens are then individually granted an extraordinary gift, the ability to shape-shift into any animal that they touch.
The pic, which is being produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard for their Imagine Entertainment shingle, was sold as a pitch from Ben Schwartz in 2012, with Schwartz also hired on to write. Josh Greenbaum is now feeling the pangs of love for the project, and has signed on to direct.
