Fox has set a crossover event for the season premieres of Empire and Star this fall, bringing the two Lee Daniels musical dramas into the same universe on Wednesday, September 27.

Lifetime original movie Flint has tapped Queen Latifa, Betsy Brandt, Jill Scott, and Marin Ireland to star. The project from Sony Pictures TV will also be executive produced by Latifah.

Former Law & Order star is headed back to Fox, where he will star opposite Queen Latifah in a currently untitled pilot from Empire co-creator Lee Daniels.

Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige have joined the cast of NBC’s live production of The Wiz. They join original Dorothy Stephanie Mills, who will play Auntie Em, for musical extravaganza, set to air December 3rd.
