Emmy winner (Orphan Black) and (I, Tonya) are in negotiations to join Nicole Kidman in Karyn Kusama’s modern crime thriller Destroyer, it was announced Wednesday.

Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell (Kidman) who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Kusama’s The Invitation scribes Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi wrote the script and will produce alongside Fred Berger of Automatik. 30WEST will fully finance the film, while CAA and are jointly representing North American Rights, with Rocket Science handling international sales.

Maslany won an Emmy for her impressive work on Orphan Black, which concluded its five-season run earlier this year. She can currently be seen opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the Boston Marathon bombing drama Stronger, and there’s awards buzz swirling around her supporting performance.

Stan gives the best performance of his career as Jeff Gilooly, the disgraced husband of Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie), in the amazing dark comedy I, Tonya, which 30WEST will co-distribute with NEON on Dec. 8. Stan is currently filming the next installment of the Avengers series, and he’s set to reprise his role of Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier in Avengers: Infinity War next spring.
