Fox Searchlight has made a deal with Annette Bening for her to join the cast of the UNTITLED NICOLE HOLOFCENER PROJECT.
The flick, which Nicole Holofcener will write and direct, is about a divorced masseuse (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) from LA who finds the perfect match in a man (James Gandolfini) who turns out to be the ex-husband of her new, eccentric and wealthy best friend (Bening). Catherine Keener was previously in talks for the role.
Anthony Bregman and Stefanie Azpiazu are producing through their Likely Story shingle.
Bening, who has been Oscar-nominated four times for “The Grifters,” “American Beauty,” “Being Julia,” and “The Kids are All Right,” will next be seen in Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’ “Ruby Sparks” starring Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan. The “Running with Scissors” thesp recently signed on to play Mary Welsh in “Hemingway & Funetes” opposite Anthony Hopkins and Andy Garcia.
She is repped by CAA.
