Kristen Wiig is currently in negotiations to join the cast of the UNTITLED DAVID/BERG/SCHAFFER/MANDEL COMEDY PROJECT from Fox Searchlight.
From “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Seinfeld” creator Larry David, the improv-based comedy follows Larry and his friend (Jon Hamm) as they make an investment in an electric car company. While Larry simply invests to get a return, his friend makes a back-end deal that makes him incredibly wealthy after the company is a success. Wiig, if cast, will play a waitress who becomes a major love interest for Larry. Michael Keaton is also starring in the Greg Mottola-helmed laugher.
David is producing with Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer, Dave Mandel, and Bradley Thomas.
This morning, Wiig was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in “Saturday Night Live,” which she left this past season after seven years in a tearful goodbye set to the cast, Mick Jagger, and creator Lorne Michaels singing “Ruby Tuesday.” She was also nominated in the voice-over performance category for voicing Lola Bunny on “The Looney Toons Show” for Cartoon Network. Earlier this year, the comedienne was nominated for an Oscar for co-writing “Bridesmaids,” which also featured Hamm. The “Friends With Kids” star recently signed on to act opposite Ben Stiller in his “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” adaptation.
