Congratulations to 2014 Launch Pad Alum Alanna Brown on being signed by her new managers! Brown has signed with Kaplan/Perrone’s partners, Aaron Kaplan and Sean Perrone. This news comes right on the heals of her signing with Paradigm in the third week of January. At that time Brown became the 15th writer from the 2o14 Launch Pad Features competition to be signed as well as the 60th Launch Pad Alum to sign. Now she is ready to move full steam ahead.
Brown made the 2014 LPFC competition’s top 25 with her script Trees of Peace, which centers on four women trapped in a small underground room fighting for their survival during the Rwandan Genocide. It is based on a heart wrenching true story of how strangers formed an unbreakable bond over three months of captivity. The script is now being packaged and is getting ready to hit the town soon.
Brown is passionate about telling stories that explore and illuminate the human spirit while provoking thought and introspection. She is currently enrolled in the UCLA professional screenwriting program. While she has drafted two novels, several short stories, and poems, Trees of Peace is her first feature length screenplay. Though it will be far from her last.
