Oscar-nominated screenwriters Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (The Descendants) are at it again, this time with a new action-comedy pitch, UNTITLED FAXON/RASH COMEDY PROJECT, with Kristen Wiig attached to to star. Kevin Walsh is attached to produce.
Currently plot details are under wraps, but we expect to know more in the coming days.
Although “The Descendants” put the two writers on the Hollywood writer’s map in a big way, the duo have been strolling through the acting circuit for years. Most recently, Faxon picked up rolls in this summer’s sleeper-hit “Bad Teacher” and “The Zookeeper.” He is currently lending his voice on “The Cleveland Show” and “Allen Gregory.” Rash, of course, plays none other than Dean Pelton on the Emmy-nominated NBC comedy “Community”
The duo currently have their first directing gig, “The Way, Way Back,” in development at 21 Laps, and Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in the coming-of-age-dramedy.
Wigg, who recently wrapped her passion project “Imogene,” is in preproduction on “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” the Ben Stiller-directed remake, which he will also star in.”
Faxon and Rash are repped by CAA and Principato/Young. Wiig is repped by UTA and Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.
