Continuing their prosperous box office relationship, Will Gluck and Sony will once again partner on a new comedy, FATHER OF THE YEAR, which Gluck will co-write, direct and produce via his shingle, Olive Bridge. The studio is keeping plot details under wraps, with Sam Laybourne also co-writing the script with Gluck.
Andrea Giannetti will oversee the project for Sony.
Gluck first directed “Fired Up!” for Screen Gems in 2009 and followed that up in 2010 with the Emma Stone-starer “Easy A.” His latest effort was last year’s “Friends With Benefits,” starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis.
Gluck has a number of producing and directing projects set up around town, including directing gigs on “Rehab” and “ESPN: Those Guys Have All The Fun,” both projects set with Fox. He is also busy on the television front with an untitled comedy pilot he wrote and will executive produce, which centers on an angel who is kicked out of heaven and is forced to move to New York. NBC has also come calling, where he will executive produce a mockumentary-style pilot detailing elementary school life written by Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons.
Gluck is repped by UTA.
