“Tetris” Movie Trilogy Moving Forward As A U.S.-China Co-Production — Cannes

Get ready for some serious block stacking action because there is a TETRIS movie franchise coming to theaters in the near future.

Based on the popular video game from the ’80s, the movie has been gestating for quite some time. , known for producing a movie adaptation for the popular ’90s video game Mortal Kombat, has partnered with Chinese businessman for the $80 million China-U.S. co-production.

The movie is set up at , a new venture between Kasanoff’s and Wu’s . Tetris will be the first installment of what is being envisioned as a trilogy. The movie will be partly shot in China and have Chinese actors in starring roles.
